Most agencies are paid by universities for each student they place, which quietly shapes the shortlist. We work for the family. We build the shortlist around the student’s best outcome, we declare any partner relationship before it can influence advice, and the advisor you meet at the first consultation is the one who stays with the file.

How many students do you take on?

Deliberately few. Each senior advisor carries a small caseload so that interview rehearsals, statement drafts and deadline management are done properly rather than in batches. When a cycle is full, we say so and offer the next intake.

Do you work with parents as well as students?

Yes, and we prefer it. Parents are welcome in every consultation, receive the same written summaries, and have their own point of contact for the financial, visa and welfare side of the process.

Which languages do you work in?

Our strongest corridors are the United Kingdom, Italy and the wider EU, the United States, Australia, and selected Asia-Pacific universities. For medicine specifically, Italy via IMAT and the UK are our most-requested routes.

When should we start?

Nine to eighteen months before the intended start date is ideal — early enough to sit entrance exams, build a portfolio, and rehearse interviews without compressing everything into a deadline. We do take on students later, but we will tell you honestly what a shorter runway costs in options.

What grades do I need?

It depends entirely on the country and course. UK medicine typically expects top predicted grades plus an admissions test; several strong EU and Asia-Pacific routes are far more accessible than families assume. The diagnostic consultation exists precisely to answer this question for your profile rather than in the abstract.

Often, yes — through foundation years, pathway programmes, a strategically built gap year, or a different country whose entry route rewards a different strength. What we will not do is take a fee to submit an application we know will fail.

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Admissions decisions belong to universities. What we commit to is a realistic shortlist, an application prepared to the highest standard we can reach together, and honesty at every stage about the odds.

Yes. Scholarship positioning is built into the admissions service — identifying the awards a student is genuinely competitive for, aligning the application narrative with each award’s criteria, and managing the separate deadlines these applications carry.

No. Each service stands alone. Many students begin with a single MESS mock exam or a one-off diagnostic consultation and expand from there only if it is useful.

Fees depend on the scope of the engagement — a single mock sitting and a full admissions-plus-concierge engagement are very different pieces of work. We quote in writing after the diagnostic consultation, itemised, with nothing added later. The diagnostic consultation itself is chargeable and is credited against the engagement if you proceed.

We map the academic profile, ambitions, budget and timeline, and give a first read on realistic options. You leave with that assessment whether or not you engage us. It is a diagnostic, not a sales meeting.

Can we work with you entirely online?

Yes. Consultations, statement work, interview rehearsals and progress reviews all run online, and many families never visit in person. Only MESS mock sittings and escorted tours require attendance.

How do the MESS mock exams work?

You register online, receive a unique QR admission pass by email within minutes, and sit the paper under proctored exam conditions. Afterwards you receive a scaled score and a section-by-section diagnostic report showing exactly where the marks were lost.

Which exams can I sit right now?

CSCA — the Clinical Sciences Competency Assessment — and IMAT, the International Medical Admissions Test, are open now. UCAT and further sittings join the MESS catalogue in the following terms; join the waiting list to be notified first.

No. MESS is open to any candidate. Many students sit a mock first and only later engage us for the wider admissions work.

How closely does the mock match the real exam?

Full length, official-style timing, the same permitted materials, invigilated throughout, and marked against the live scoring scale. The intention is that the real sitting feels like a repeat, not a first attempt.

How many mocks should I sit?

One is a measurement; a series is preparation. Most candidates sit their first mock four to six months out and then repeat roughly monthly, using each diagnostic to redirect the next block of study.

What is in the diagnostic report?

A scaled score, a section-by-section breakdown, an analysis of timing against accuracy, the topics where marks were lost most often, and a prioritised list of what to study next.

Are the tours suitable for students under 18?
